Craig Hocknull Biography Awards and Wins

Papua New Guinea Born Australian Craig Hocknull is a member of the Professional Golfers Associations of America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Craig's tournament experience includes 30 + official world golf ranking tour events to include two Majors the 2018 and 2019 PGA Championships, The PGA Tours WM Phoenix Open in 2017 and 2022 and the Shriners Hospitals for Children’s Open in 2020and 2023. Craig’s other tour events were played on the following tours; Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamerica, PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Australasia and European Tour.

Craig Hocknull combines more than 25 years of elite competitive and coaching experience with a strong academic and scientific foundation in golf performance. His formal college education included extensive coursework in sports science, kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, motor learning, and human performance, providing him with a deep understanding of how the body functions, adapts, and performs under pressure. Long before biomechanics became a mainstream topic in golf instruction, Craig developed an early fascination with movement efficiency, sequencing, and athletic performance through his training in Australia under highly respected coaches such as Steve Bann, Ross Herbert, and Peter Claughton, along with exposure to training environments connected to the Australian Institute of Sport. Those early experiences helped shape his curiosity and appreciation for the science behind elite ball striking, athletic motion, and player development.

Following college, Craig continued his education independently through years of advanced study in golf biomechanics, movement patterns, force production, injury prevention, and performance optimization. He has studied the work of respected industry leaders such as Dr. Rob Neal, Chris Como, and educational programs through Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). This combination of formal education, elite competitive experience, mentorship from world-class coaches, and continuous professional development allows Craig to bridge the gap between traditional instruction and modern sports science. His coaching philosophy blends biomechanics, performance training, feel-based learning, and competitive experience to help players develop efficient, repeatable golf swings while maximizing performance and reducing injury risk.

“My coaching philosophy includes 5 core development areas: Self Belief, Golf IQ, Health and Wellness, Golf Skill Development and Equipment Optimization. As I help each of my players identify their strengths and weaknesses we work together in an extremely efficient manner to design a pathway toward achieving their goals. After decades of competition and coaching I’ve learned how to quickly get my students on the right track. My job as your coach is to speed up the learning curve by diagnosing accurately and then prescribing the right fixes to enhance your knowledge and skills. I’ve already spent tens of thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars refining my system so that you don’t have to spend the same time and money to achieve your goals. I love witnessing that lightbulb moment or seeing the excitement of a student whose mind is blown by how simple and effective my coaching methods are. All I have to do is smile and watch the magic happen. If you’re serious about improving and you want to do it the right way instead of just band-aiding your issues, then sign up today. You won’t regret it!” - Craig
